Foxy Friends Meets Thumping Technique
So the "polar vortex" hit us this week in Northern Illinois. My work was closed on Wednesday because of the extreme cold, and I decided to pull out a list of techniques I'd taught years ago when I was holding monthly technique classes. The first one I pulled up was the Thumping technique. It's a fun and easy technique that goes like this: 1. Choose solid or semi-solid stamps (no outline-only images). 2. Gather an ink pad and some complimentary markers. 3. Ink up your stamp with the pad, then "thump" one or more different colors on the stamp with the brush tip of your Stampin' Write Markers. 4. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink (like when you "huh" on your hands when they're cold). 5. Stamp! On this card, I inked the cat with Sahara Sand ink. Then I thumped Crumb Cake and Pumpkin Pie markers on it. I finished it off with Early Espresso ink for the face and legs. I'll be sharing a few more cards using this technique over the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, give this technique a try and see what you can come up with.
